Universal, Disney, and Sony accounted for roughly 70% of the summer box office with shares of 26%, 22%, and 21%. Meanwhile A24 hit a 5.5% share, beating Warner Bros at 5% and Paramount at 4.5%. This marks the first time an independent distributor led the domestic summer over a major studio. Kane Parsons' Backrooms helped A24 pass those two giants. Paramount had, in baseball terms, a few singles and doubles. Data from THR.

A24 really outperformed the big studios this summer. That is impressive.
