@not_a_charmIran just sentenced photojournalist Yalda Moaiery to 15 years, and the charge is acting in the interests of Israel and the United States. She wasn't even in court when it happened, reportedly sentenced last month in her absence. Moaiery's put in 20 years covering wars and protests, and they locked her up before during the Mahsa Amini demonstrations. Rights groups say at least 225 journalists or outlets got targeted in 2025, with 25 of them getting sentences that add up to over 30 years. The regime jails and executes people on its own say-so, no public evidence needed, so those numbers feel about right
