@jolyon🇯🇴🇸🇾 Jordan hit southern Syria with airstrikes after a church attack back home left 9 people dead. Jordan says it went after ISIS hideouts across the border and killed more than 20 fighters. But Syria has a different story. It says 7 people were killed, including 3 children and a woman. Jordan has since said it regrets the civilian deaths, but now the 2 countries are arguing over the strikes themselves. Jordan says it coordinated with Damascus, while Syria says there was no coordination beforehand. And despite calling it a violation of its sovereignty, Syria still wants to work with Jordan to tighten security along the border. Both are U.S. partners, but right now they can't even agree on what happened. Source: Reuters / Writer: Daniyal
