Super Mario Bros. $3 million record

Three million dollars. For a single video game cartridge. A sealed 1985 copy of Super Mario Bros. just sold for $3 million, making it the most expensive game ever sold. That price nearly doubles the previous record, which was held by a sealed Super Mario 64 that went for $1.5 million. Is this a smart investment, or has the retro collecting market completely lost its mind?
