India has seen significant growth in its national highways. From 57,737 km in 2000, the network expanded to 58,112 km by 2004. The following year, it grew to 65,569 km, reaching 66,590 km in 2006. By 2007, there were 66,754 km of national highways, which increased to 70,548 km in 2008 and 70,934 km in 2009.
