Here is a look at the best-performing stock markets in Asia by year, based on historical data. In 2000, South Korea's KOSPI led the region. The following year, 2001, saw a tie between Russia's RTS and South Korea's KOSPI. Thailand's SET took the top spot in 2002. Indonesia's IDX Composite was the leader for two consecutive years, in 2003 and 2004.
