Casemiro childhood struggles and São Paulo privilege

CASEMIRO: "In my childhood I had to take on the role of 'dad'. I was used to having to leave home every night to find a place to sleep. Not all of us fit in our own place, so sometimes we went to my aunt's house and sometimes to my grandmother's. There we all had to fit into the same room and the same bathroom. I was in charge of my younger siblings, whom I looked after and fed while my mother worked. In São Paulo they had to set up a place for me at the training center so I could sleep. I had my own room, television, sound system, and food at all hours of the day. It was a privilege for me."
