Gerard Piqué on Clásico rivalry

GERARD PIQUÉ is reflecting on a specific period when the arrival of a certain figure at Real Madrid shifted the entire vibe. He says honestly that fear settled in and the atmosphere became much more tense. The personality this person brought, the way they approached every Clásico against Barça, plus everything said before matches raised the temperature to a point where there was real nervousness. Some players took the character personally, but Piqué notes that reflects how football was understood as confrontation, intensity, and constant pressure. There were controversial moments like the episode with Tito which marked that stage of the rivalry. Even so, it was all part of a spectacle the whole world watched. Those years of Clásicos weren't just football; they were global events loaded with expectation. That mix of sport and entertainment generated special energy felt from the locker room to the stands. Piqué clarifies he never had him as a coach, yet his discourse clearly impacted both his team and rivals. Every match against Madrid carried different tension, almost electric. Personally, he enjoyed that intensity because it forced him to compete at maximum levels. It was chaos, yes, but also what made those duels unforgettable.
