Tite Kubo BLEACH Thousand-Year Blood War interview

Tite Kubo shared details about his creative process for BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War in a recent interview. He explained that he started drawing rough storyboards to pitch ideas for new anime scenes. At first, he tried writing out his concepts, but the text became too long and hard to follow. Sketching the scenes as rough boards proved easier for him to understand and execute. Kubo admitted he initially hesitated to do this. He worried it might seem like he was stepping on the toes of the anime team's storyboard artists. That changed after he submitted one draft. The staff was really happy with the result, which made him feel okay about continuing. He has been providing these rough sketches fairly often since then. You can see his direct influence in specific additions to the show. Orihime's extra content is one clear example. Another major instance is Ichigo's new true bankai, Blood Chains.
