Vance strait RPG comment Scott Horton

The vice president's case against this war is the one that sticks: the strait is narrow enough that a few people with an RPG could close it, so the only thing keeping it open is a Tehran government that wants it open, and that only comes from negotiation. He took flak from his own side for that. Scott Horton keeps referencing what the VP told Joe Rogan. He figured the fighting would stay within some tacit agreement that a final deal was on the way, and the last month showed he was off on that. His take: "I still think I'm right, I'm just too early." The deeper point Horton makes is that every US president since Lyndon Johnson has dragged out a losing war instead of ending it, and that reflex, more than any plan, is what's driving this round. #JoeRogan
