Petr Čech on Crespo VAR and Chelsea

Petr Čech is convinced that VAR would have changed the narrative for Crespo at Chelsea Football Club. He argues that if the system existed back then, Crespo would have ended up with over 50 goals instead of his actual tally. The former goalkeeper points out a massive discrepancy where linesmen flagged four to six offsides in every single match, yet replays proved only two were real mistakes. It wasn't just bad luck; Čech says Crespo had incredible timing, crossing and slipping behind the last defender instantly before anyone could react. Linesmen raised flags the second they saw him behind defenders, but TV replays told a completely different story. Beyond the positioning, he also notes that Crespo's shooting power was extremely impressive, something you couldn't ignore even without VAR.
