Matthew Lillard is owning up to feeling ashamed about returning to the Scream franchise, a move that happened right after Melissa Barrera got dismissed for supporting Palestine. He says he was so pumped to go back in that moment he didn't really process Melissa and her journey at all. The actor admits he just failed to say no when it actually mattered. He's calling the backlash brutal and saying he feels bad about how it played out. Lillard is straight up embarrassed by the whole thing and believes he ended up on the wrong side of history for making that call. Even though he still enjoys being part of the movie, he's admitting it may not have been the best idea.
