Beyoncé Jay-Z Solange elevator May 2014

Nobody outside that elevator ever got the whole story, and honestly that might be the point. What we do know: Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and Solange Knowles were all in a private elevator at The Standard Hotel in New York back in May 2014, right after the Met Gala after party, and a camera caught what went down. Solange confronting Jay-Z. Beyoncé right there beside them. The clip leaked and the internet did what the internet does, spinning up every possible theory about what happened in the seconds before those doors slid shut. But the recording never showed the full picture, and a lot of the story stayed off camera. Three days later the three of them put out a joint statement, saying they'd apologized to each other and moved forward as a family. That's the part people forget. The footage keeps resurfacing, the theories keep going, but the actual ending was them choosing to move on together. Still one of those celebrity moments from the 2010s that refuses to fade out.
