Pau Cubarsí FC Barcelona Spotify

The name Pau Cubarsí isn't landing in the main conversation for the next Ballon d'Or, yet the actual achievements on display demand a serious re-evaluation. He secured the La Liga title with FC Barcelona and then claimed the Spanish Super Cup after his side defeated Real Madrid to lift that trophy as well. Beyond the club level, he cemented his status by becoming a world champion on the international stage. That tournament wasn't just participation; he took home the Young Player MVP award while delivering legendary performances against top-tier national teams including Portugal, Belgium, France, and Argentina. All of this came while he was only 19 years old during the season evaluated. His defensive unit operated at an elite level, conceding just one goal across eight matches against some of the toughest opposition available. It is a known historical trend that defenders often receive less attention when individual awards are handed out, but the silence surrounding Cubarsí in Ballon d'Or discussions feels genuinely surprising. He has won major trophies with his club and captured the biggest prize in international football with his country. PAU CUBARSÍ, UNDERRATED.
