Goma coup attempt suspects Binamungu Katumbi

THEOBALD BINAMUNGU stands out as the main suspect behind what AFRICA INTELLIGENCE calls an attempted coup d'état in GOMA, yet this individual is not part of the AFC-M23. Instead, he operates as a close ally of MOÏSE KATUMBI and has managed to construct a specific plan designed to neutralize the Chief of Staff of the CONGOLESE REVOLUTIONARY ARMY, with confirmed internal complicity backing that effort. The situation reveals why FÉLIX TSHISEKEDI is described as extremely concerned about how the international posture of a constitutional revolution originating from the eastern DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO might look. While the AFC-M23 leadership successfully resisted the conspiracy and remains intact, several cases of treason within the movement are still being reported. TSHISEKEDI managed to break through some decrees related to the cause but ultimately did not reach the root of the revolutionary struggle itself. Even though names of known officers have been identified, several facts regarding the full scope of the plot remain unknown.
