Pentagon lasers Strait of Hormuz

Real combat, real lasers. The Pentagon has confirmed directed-energy systems are downing Iranian drones and incoming cruise missiles in the Strait of Hormuz, and each shot costs a sliver of what a traditional interceptor does. Testing is also underway on the U.S. southern border, aimed at cartel drones. The Army put $500 million behind high-energy lasers it calls "war-ready." The people aiming them are using reconfigured Xbox controllers. So the lab era is over for these weapons, and the battlefield is where they live now. Source: NY Post / Writer: Samuel
