RESIDENT EVIL crosses $100M domestic

Domestic box office just hit a new ceiling for the franchise with Zach Cregger's RESIDENT EVIL crossing $100M. It is the very first time any film in this series has reached that specific revenue milestone. For context, RE: Afterlife previously held the record at $60.1 million domestically. The rest of the lineup trails behind significantly: RE: Apocalypse brought in $51.2 million, while RE: Extinction earned $50.6 million. RE: Retribution followed with $42.3 million, and the original Resident Evil (2002) managed $40.1 million. The Final Chapter only pulled $26.8 million domestically, and Welcome to RC finished at $17.0 million.
