Carlos Tévez daughter car lesson

The lesson landed before the ride did. Carlos Tévez's eldest daughter asked her dad for a car, mostly so she and her sister could roll up to school together, and her reasoning was airtight on paper: You are Carlos Tévez. How can you not buy your daughter a car? Never mind that nobody in that house was short on money. The Apache wasn't budging. If you want a car, save your money and buy it yourself. He even floated McDonald's as a perfectly fine first job, because the point was never the paycheck, it was learning to EARN THINGS WITH YOUR OWN HANDS. It's hard, but she has to learn it. Easy to say when you haven't lived it? He has. Tévez was 21 before a car of his own was in the picture, and by then he'd already put in enough work to buy a house for his father. Comfort is the easy gift. Teaching a kid what effort is worth, and letting them earn their own stuff, might be the one that actually sticks.
