Keiichi Sigsawa Kouhaku Kuroboshi new light novel Drifted

A new series is coming from Keiichi Sigsawa and Kouhaku Kuroboshi, the duo behind Kino's Journey, and it's landing under Dengeki Bunko. Volume one carries the title Drifted Vol 1: John Smith's Edo Drifter Chronicles. The premise: a former soldier from the USA winds up in Edo period Japan, taking on the life of a samurai with blue eyes, and the city of Edo is where he's based. What he's digging into is a case of modern assault rifles turning up in that era, pulled across time and space somehow. That's a wild setup for a mystery, tho I'm curious how the time travel angle gets handled.
