LeBron and SGA streak endings

What sticks with me isn't the length of the streaks, it's the exit. LeBron James ran off 1,297 straight games in double figures, and in 2025 that number stopped. He'd scored 8 points and had one last crack at double digits, but he swung it to Rui Hachimura, who hit the winner for the Lakers. The winning play was the choice, and his guy came through. Come 2026, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander watched his own historic run close out. Sitting on 17 points, he asked to come out with 1:43 left while Memphis emptied its bench in a game that was already settled. That ended 141 consecutive 20-point games, and SGA said afterward he did it out of respect for the game. Records like those might not get touched for generations. Building that kind of consistency is extraordinary, and having the humility to let a streak end for the right reasons makes the greatness even more remarkable. Both of them put winning and sportsmanship ahead of personal milestones. How you carry yourself matters as much as records, rings and accolades. LeBron and Shai are two class acts who understand the game means more than any individual stat line.
