North Korean hackers Binance theft

About $2.7 billion in stolen crypto got frozen by Tether, Circle, Ripple, World Liberty Financial and Arbitrum's Security Council, but roughly $2.4 billion is still inaccessible to those entities after North Korean state-sponsored hackers pulled off the largest cryptocurrency heist in history. TRM Labs says TraderTraitor stole roughly $6.36 billion from Binance starting at 20:05 UTC on October 29, moving funds across 10 blockchains with most transfers completed within 20 minutes of initiation. The incident shares characteristics with a February 2025 hack on Bybit linked to the same group by the FBI. #Binance
