Roger Ebert didn't pull punches reviewing Vincent Gallo's The Brown Bunny at Cannes, labeling it the worst film in festival history and joking a colonoscopy video would be more entertaining. Gallo snapped back hard, calling Ebert a fat pig with the physique of a slave trader while claiming to hex his prostate and colon. Ebert later hit back with a sharp line: It is true that I am fat, but one day I will be thin, and he will still be the director of The Brown Bunny. Eventually Gallo recut the movie, earning a three-star rating from Ebert for the new version.
