democrats are reacting to a requirement by gov. ronald desantis and florida for an anti-communism curriculum starting in 6th grade this fall. the florida department of education is behind these new history of communism standards where grade 6 covers ancient communal systems, grade 7 looks at the effects of communist government on freedoms economy and political participation, and grade 8 explores early attempts at communal living in us society and impacts like plymouth. grades 9-12 cover the intellectual political and economic origins of communism. a fox news report features an educator stating the lessons offer a deeper look at communism while someone calls it not censorship or indoctrination just teaching truth and urges to do it nationwide!
