Inde Navarrette is opening up about her audition for Obsession, specifically the role of Nikki. She explains that she received the script because she was desperate to do something completely different than what she had done before. There was this fire in her belly that just wanted to show people what she could do, but she hadn't had the opportunity yet. When she read the part, she realized there was such range and endless things you could do with Nikki. She went ahead and did a Zoom audition, but she genuinely thought she bombed it. That is exactly why her reaction when she was told the performance was electrifying was just an 'Ah!' She felt totally electrocuted by the feedback. It turns out she was lucky enough that the decision-maker saw something in her that she didn't feel like she had shown at all.

I got sent the script because I wanted to do something completely different than I'd ever done before. I felt like I had this fire in my belly that I just wanted to show people what I could do. And I didn't have yet the opportunity. And then this script came around and was like, wow, what range and what, like, endless things that you can do as Nikki. And then I did a Zoom. I thought I bombed it, which is why my response to him being like, he's electrifying. And I went, ah, yeah, he felt electrocuted. But then I was lucky enough that he saw something in me that I didn't feel like I had shown.
