Blind Ranking Video Game Adaptations

von 🔫 Not A Real Sugar: Halo

New Street Fighter movie hit theaters, and that sent me down a blind ranking of game adaptations. My list went ten deep. Halo took last, and calling it an abomination still feels kind. Fallout landed second. Arcane third, a show I respect a lot. Cyberpunk Edgerunners fourth, mostly because I was banking on something else taking the top spot. A Minecraft movie came in fifth, and honestly I was never a big Minecraft guy, so indifference carried that one. Super Mario Brothers sixth. Borderlands and the 1995 Mortal Kombat tied at seventh, and that Mortal Kombat has a corny charm that keeps it from sinking lower. Zach Greger's Resident Evil is one of the best adaptations I've seen in a long time, but I don't love it enough for number one here. The Last of Us HBO took that spot. So what game adaptation is your favorite?

We're living in the era of Street Fighter hit in theaters, so let's take a look back at the best movie and TV adaptations of games, starting with Halo. Oh, that one hurts my soul. It's an abomination. I'm putting it at 10th already. Next up, Fallout. Do I put a number one? No, I'm going to put second. Arcane. Oh, also one that I really respect third. A Minecraft movie. I'm going to be honest, out of the really big series, I was actually never a big Minecraft person. So I'm just kind of indifferent to it. Fifth. Okay. All right. Cyberpunk Edgerunners. Oh, I'm just, I'm banking on a certain property being number one. So I'm going to put that fourth. The Last of Us HBO. There it is. Number one. Yeah. Okay. Fair enough. Fair enough. Let's get that out of the way. The Super Mario Brothers movie. Like a six? Borderlands. Nice. The hell it. The 1995 Mortal Kombat movie. You know what? Okay. So objectively, it's not the best movie, but it has like a funny, it has like a charm to it, like kind of a corny charm. So I'm not going to put that super low. I'll put that at seventh. Okay. Okay. And last but not least, Zach Greger's Resident Evil film. I just, I just, I watched that movie. It's one of the best adaptations I've seen in a long time. I love the movie so much, but this list, I don't love the movie too much.
