Airbnb fees vs hotels on Memes & Markets

    von Kelsey7f: Airbnb

The budget pick used to be Airbnb, not anymore. A $250 cleaning fee on top of doing the whole house before you check out, and a bad review if it's not spotless. The original pitch was a cheaper, homier stay, then the fees and the chore list showed up. Prices for the same kind of place legit tripled over a four year span in some spots. I watched Florida get worse every winter I went, hosts bragging about earnings, and it reshaped the city and the market too. Not sad the greediest ones are getting destroyed. Hotels are the cheap option now

Crazy that how people will just like keep taking an inch, you know what I mean, to make it more and more crazy. And the promise of Airbnb was always that you got like a cheaper cost, more of like a homey type experience. And then they start charging you a cleaning fee. And then also they expect you to leave it immaculate or otherwise you're going to get a bad review kind of thing. It's like, fuck off. That's crazy. I'm paying you this crazy amount of money to stay in your house. That's also something that I'm not I'm not too sad to see that a lot of people who got really greedy trying to play the Airbnb game are getting absolutely destroyed. I used to go in Florida every winter and where I go, the first year I started going, it wasn't that bad. And then every year it got progressively more and more crazy because the greed just got, because people talk, right? They brag about how much they're making from it. And then it totally transformed the city itself. And then also the market, like in a four year span, the price of the same kind of thing, like legit tripled, dude, for an Airbnb. Wow. Two slides said, finally, are you going to charge me a $250 cleaning fee and make me clean the entire house? It's super true, man.
