Anthropic IPO filing leak figures

    von Gigliola: Anthropic

The AI bubble argument gets louder when a leaked draft of Anthropic's IPO filing shows a reported $80.7 billion loss for the first half of 2026. Same document reportedly puts revenue at $16.3 billion across that period, against $1.1 billion a year earlier. And the computing power line could run as high as $750 billion in the years ahead, per the draft. M&M News has the figures, and the spending number is what keeps the bubble question alive

Anthropic lost $80 billion in six months. AI, excuse me, a leaked draft of Anthropic's IPO filing shows an $80 billion net loss for the first half of 2026. Revenue jumped to $16 billion for the same period, up $1 billion from a year earlier. But this filing says Anthropic could spend up to $750 billion on computing power in the coming years. The numbers add fuel to the debate over whether AI is a spending bubble. yeah i thought we saw a similar headline yeah it's hard to even look at any of these numbers with any with any real like thought about what that even means because it just seems like all these things are so fake and detached from reality anyways or banking on a future that they're going to create So, yeah, I don't know. I don't know if anything really stops this train, as Lynn Alden says. Yeah, that's a good point. It's like the numbers are so high in the sky that like, okay, let's reduce that to 60 billion that they lost. Or 50 billion in half and say they lost 40 billion. It doesn't even change anything. Also, the unfortunate reality of this is that the worse the economy gets, there's this feedback loop where more and more people will be forced to try AI and see that it's better than a lot of their employees. Right? And then that's where it starts this domino effect of potential employment crisis. Anthropic launches. Duet. We talk about how the internet is messing with all of us all the time. So if you're into that kind of thing, definitely hit follow.
