TheStockGuy

TheStockGuy is an American finance streamer — "Money & Mayhem" on Twitch, where he is a Partner with over 325,000 followers — who turns stocks, inflation and home-buying into punchlines (BetterBanned, GG Talent Group). He broke out on January 28, 2021, when his tweets calling out Robinhood's GameStop trading halt went viral — and found himself briefing the moment on a congresswoman's livestream the same night (Dexerto). Inverse identified him in February 2021 as Jason Frank, then 35, of Florida (Inverse).[bearbeiten]

He was already streaming market commentary on Twitch when the January 2021 squeeze made retail trading the biggest story in finance. A claimed October 2020 first-tweet date could not be verified and is dropped.[bearbeiten]

January 27–28, 2021: as Robinhood and other brokerages halt GameStop buying, his callout tweets explode — tens of thousands of shares — and that evening he joins AOC's Twitch discussion of the halt with Chamath Palihapitiya and Alexis Goldstein (Dexerto, Shacknews). February 2021: profiled by Inverse as the face of the new "stonks streamer" (Inverse). Since: weekday live trading streams, CNBC hits, the Dane Cook crossover, and a GG Talent Group signing (GG Talent Group). Still streaming weekdays as of 2026 (YouTube).[bearbeiten]

Retail's class clown: memes and sarcasm aimed at brokerages, institutions and occasionally Congress (Inverse). The underdog credential is real — he was there on the night the halts happened, explaining it live (Dexerto). Coverage spans CNBC suits to comedy green rooms (GG Talent Group).[bearbeiten]
