TQG

Barcelona and Miami served as the backdrop for a visual showdown that launched on February 24, 2023. The music video directed by Colin Tilley placed Karol G and Shakira in opulent settings, trading barbs through lyrics that targeted their respective ex-partners Gerard Piqué and Anuel AA. Lines about a "new one" with a baby and a Rolex that doesn't need a hand turned the track into a cultural decoding exercise for fans eager to dissect every reference to past relationships.

The song arrived as a reggaeton and Latin pop anthem titled TQG, an acronym for the Spanish phrase "Te Quedó Grande." Produced by Ovy on the Drums, the collaboration marked the first time these two Colombian superstars recorded together. It appeared as the fifth track on Karol G's album Mañana Será Bonito while also securing a spot on Shakira's subsequent release Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran.

Commercial success followed immediately upon release. The single debuted at number one on both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts, giving both artists their first summit spots on those specific lists simultaneously. In the United States, it peaked at number seven on the Hot 100, becoming Karol G's first top-ten entry there. The track held the number one position on the Hot Latin Songs chart for five consecutive weeks and earned Platinum certification from the RIAA. [bearbeiten]
